An online friend of mine sold me Brohn's Staff for Drago Vampiric Flatbow and 10k. He knew the true value for Brohn Staff but told me its X-Mas so i should enjoy the staff for cheap.

Correct me if/as I'm wrong, but most of the people think that people are nice only if they give out /sell free/cheap stuff/money. Is it really so? I think being nice means merely helping a friend or stranger at the moment they need help, giving advice, guiding and maybe adding some firepower to their company... but not actually giving out like 100K worth of stuff... that's like buying your friendship.

For me, the nicest guy was the one I met with my 1st ever char (Me/E) in Ascalon/pre-searing. He tutored me to the secrets of controls, spells and skills, had the patience to watch me fumbling through my skillbar... and kept me alive when I literally lost sight to my opponent (I managed to turn around somehow and kinda panicked ).
Unfortunately I have lost the name... only the memory remains

A girl called Sarah, she gives away stacks of cash and items (greens, ecto, shards, sup. monk (and other) runes). She also does free runs just about anywhere, refuses even tips - but I've learnt she doesn't say no to ale or flowers.

Someone went and got me Althea's Ashes and then wouldn't accept payment. That was nice. I forgot the character name.

I don't really know anything else that stands out.. I see a lot more people being rude than nice.

I've met a lot of nice persons. Like:
Lady Caria. We were both complete nubies in the game (and I still am xD), she plays WoW and wanted to try GW. We did a lot of Pre-Searing quests.
Unfortunately I don't think she still plays GW, she liked WoW more

Oh, and I don't know his/her name anymore but the night before Wintersday items arrived there was someone in LA Int 1 giving away free green items. That was verry funny because she instantly had a lot of worshippers xD.

Good thread. I know alot of nice people online and im pretty lucky to have the guild im in. They are all great and everyone shares, like we know we may be to get 50k for a sup vigor but its just 'here you go' if somone needs it. I cant remember being in an argument with any of them and if anyone needs anything basicly we know we have the help.

One example i have is when i was in the desert (on my second char to get there) i was in a party with pick ups and i got talking to a guy. He was mes as well and he told me he'd show me where an item i needed was. In conversation i said i wanted to make a solo monk. So of course it turns out he has one and he ends up teaching me how to do it. First time we went to UW 2 ecto's dropped and he's like 'want one?' and drops it on the floor (this is back in the day with the old prot bond build). We are now guildies.

I've met a lot of really nice people, but two really stand out. I'm not giving their names though because I don't want them to get spammed with requests.

One was a Warrior at Augury Rock. He taught me the ways of Griff farming and even gave me most of the loot from the run. He showed me his build, walked me through Griff farming 101 and we're still friends and chat on line often.

Another was a Monk I met last night. I know, Solo Monks seem to have a bad rep. I've been on teams that starting screaming if a Solo Monk joins the group. This guy was extremely nice. My first Post char was my Necro. I somehow stumbled my way through the game all the way to completion with no real direction. She was Blood, MM, you name it. I could find no real purpose for her. Then I started seeing the demand for SS/SV Necros in the UW. I looked up a few builds right here on Guru and went to ToA. I barely got my spam out when I got an invite from a 55 Monk. I told him up front that I had never done a two man before but I really wanted to learn. He walked me all the way through the UW guiding and instructing me (and it was very profitable). What a great guy and very patient. I made a couple mistakes, but he didn't yell and leave me down there alone. He gave some constructive instruction and we moved on.

It makes me feel great to meet such nice people on GW. And I know there are even more like them out there.

lol I suppose I didn't mention guildies cuz I expected that everyones were as nice as mine, but something someone said reminded me that the first guild I was with was NOT nice. I donated a copious amount of black dye (when it was worth 15k+) to help buy our guild hall. All in all about 3 people shared the majority of the cost split fairly evenly. After a week of being off due to work and study, among other things, I get on to discover I got kicked from my guild. At first I thought that the guild AI was having issues, because it had been having issues two weeks prior, but then when I PM one of the Officers she/he refused to tell me what had happened and then set the channel to ignore, if I had been rude then I could have understood the actions taken but I had done nothing more than message, "I think the guild AI is messing up, because apparently I'm not in the guild." My next query of "Do you know what has happened, and can it be fixed" came back with CHAR.X is ignoring you. I waited 2 months to get a re-invite, then gave up when I found a nice bunch of ppl in the UW who were polite and helpful and really wanted me in their guild. I've had a blast with them and they have given and been given all sorts of things. This is the way that guilds should work.

I had somthing like that happen to me, I gave 10k towards a guild hall in a guild on the first day I joined, then the next day I was kicked out because they found out I was not a leagal adult

2 of my guildies in [RIP] are the nicest ppl I met. I won't name names for their own privacy sakes but John and DJ should be close enuff.
One of them bought a guildhall for us, twice, and payed to change the cape several times just because we didn't like it. He also gave me lots of platinum when I first started out so I could get armour and donated several gold/purple items. He has run all of my characters places and always helps out with missions that I'm struggling with. Not only has he done this for me, but for umpteen others in the guild. Also another guy in the guild who I've not known long, but who has payed for a couple of trips to FoW and donated me crafting materials for armour for one of my char's and offered several other favours similar. In honour of ppl like this I regularly go to Ascalon and give away runes and weapons I would otherwise flog. It's good to see ppl doing decent stuff for the hell of it instead of trying to charge "500000k here, 30000000k there." I should also mention that my gf plays and is of course the nicest #1 person I know in-game... *cough* )

Hmm, a few people really:

- My brother and his guild, for giving me a bit of cash, and his old Necro's weapons/runes for me to use. Very nice of him.

- Dusty Warrior: Ran the Elona Reach mission for me (after bad parties had failed it 7 times). At end of mission, one guy wouldn't pay, but Dusty still let us complete mission anyway.

- Bluehawk Trellis/Bloody Mary Trellis: Helped me out with the Ice Caves of Sorrow mission, and offered to get me a Shadestone =O

There's some really nice people around, it's just a shame there's a lot of nasty/irresponsible players too.

Default well she rules

hi ho get a hot chocolate this is a long 1

well i got really bored one day and seen

"so and so, has one bla bla bla to get favour for europe"

so i thought ill go to FoW aint been there in ages (got me a trapper used to go into UW all the time)

so i enter then say monk lfg i get like 20 invites but one in pirticular interested me, there was a mesmer(all parties prior to this party i never ahd fought with a mesmer before, but there awsome) so i accept there invite and say hiya, and they all said hi back (a friendly bunch)

so i donate my 125 and we go so were waiting for the mob patrol to return so i ask

"wats everyone in for shards or summit"

get reply from female mesmer "just getting my FoW armour"

im like "cool hope i dont mess it up for ya"

she laughs and we go kick butt, we get to a chest and im like damm forgot a key so she gives me one i say soz i cant afford it my moneys in storage, but shes like hav it for free so cool, then she gets her armour and i ask

"can i take a pick so i can post it on ma guild site (i was officer and in charge of the builds section)

i tell her the pic is on bla.blablabla(pointing out the obvious not real site)

the next day i go back in ToA hoping she would b there then i remember her name and whisp her

"hey, me from last night wanna do FoW again"

she replies "soz gotta go the now but good luck"

im like ok np so i go in anyway, i go in a few times that night getting shards and drops etc. i get a ping

"hey me from last night, how r u goin"

we hav a long convo then

"cool so is ure monk a 55hp then, im like no to much for the runes etc. i got like 4 chars to keep afloat"

then"ok ill get u them"

"im like i still cant afford them tho"

her"its ok u dont need to giv me money its free, u got a m8 who can store these till ure out of FoW caus i need to go"

me"there all busy"

bang all of a sudden that damm warrior lures the whole map it seemed R.I.P we all die

me"well i just died"

so and so is wanting to trade with u, she gives me the runes

her "when u next online

me" tomorrow im off so most of tomorrow"

so tomorrow arrives, i get pinged to meet her in LA so i do, she tells me the correct armour, ect to buy and were to place the runes, then she takes me and tells me wat skills i need and how to use them, but i nvr had Sheild Of Judgment so i couldnt do great, so i was like im gonna go cap SoJ, (she had to leave) she said good luck.

so i cap it and then pinged by her, i tell her i got it all, she takes me out shows me how its all done.

nowadays me and her r best friends, sharing interest etc.

and since the guild i was in kinda disbanded caus of weird reasons, she invited me into her guild the [SB]

turns out she has two accounts (i knew she had two accounts but damm the stuff in them) with 6 or so in total characters with full FoW armour and she is gettin others (i think) as well as paying for her other friends FoW armour

all in all she has showin me the more wealthier places to get money.

and now im guite good with rare green items godli bows etc.

and im now gettin the materials for some FoW armour
